
Steve Pelland Peer Coordinator Community Transition Teams Provincial Health Services
Steve oversees and coordinates peer support for the 10 Community Transition Teams across B.C. Steve’s role is centered around providing support, guidance and mentorship for the Peer Support Workers as well as supporting inter-disciplinary health care teams in understanding and applying trauma informed practices and client centered care. Steve has a passion for helping those in need and his own journey began as a client with the Community Transition Teams program. Steve has over 20 years of lived experience with substance use and criminal justice involvement and is able to understand the significant challenges and barriers that clients face when transitioning from custody to community. It is because of this experience that he approaches his work and clients with compassion, understanding, and care. Steve is actively involved in the recovery community where he continues his own personal journey of wellness and also supports others who are looking to make changes in their lives.
