CCSA’s Issues of Substance Conference

Special Panel Presentation Announced as Closing Keynote for CCSA’s Issues of Substance

The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) is pleased to announce the closing plenary presentation for our Issues of Substance conference. 

Driving Change Together: Priorities for Substance Use and Mental Health Beyond the Pandemic will be a panel discussion featuring  provincial deputy ministers of health. The panelists will discuss key mental health and substance use issues confronting their provinces as high priorities as we begin to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Panelists include:
        •    Kym Kaufmann
             Deputy Minister, Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery, Government of Manitoba

        •    Christine Massey
              Deputy Minister, Mental Health and Addictions, Government of British Columbia

Dr. Stephen Lucas, Deputy Minister, Health Canada, will moderate the session.  

This closing plenary panel will take place from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, November 25. Simultaneous interpretation in French will be available.

Individuals registered for the conference will be able to access this session, as well as most of the other sessions taking place at Issues of Substance, for 30 days after the end of the conference. 

CCSA has previously announced Jann Arden and Eddy Robinson as keynote speakers for the conference.
