CCSA’s Issues of Substance Conference
Keynote Speaker

Julie Zimmerman Provincial Director Primary Care and Virtual Services Foundry BC

Foundry is a province-wide network of youth centres and online supports that removes barriers and offers young people ages 12-24 and their families’ access to free and youth-friendly integrated mental health, substance use support physical and sexual health, social services and youth and family peer support.

Julie’s past roles as the regional lead for Addictions for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Manager of North Shore Foundry and Adult Substance use Services, and as the Program lead for an integrated primary care centre, have allowed her to pursue her passion for community based, collaborative care. They also taught her to appreciate the complexity of systems that are required to work together to provide the best health outcomes for communities. She credits her years of experience as an occupational therapist and organizational psychology specialist with fostering a philosophy of client and community centred service, and the importance of ongoing engagement of clients, families and other service providers.
