Canadian Singer Jann Arden Announced as Keynote Speaker at CCSA’s Issues of Substance
August 10, 2021
Multi-Juno award winning singer, author and actress, Jann Arden is speaking as a keynote presenter at CCSA’s Issues of Substance conference this fall.
Arden currently stars in the popular CTV show, Jann, where she plays a fictionalized, self-deprecating version of herself. During her talk on the second day of the conference, she will share her personal journey. She will explain the importance of adaptability, being built for change and finding good — even funny — things in the most difficult of situations.
The Mental Health Commission of Canada, as the partner of Issues of Substance, is working with CCSA to present the second day of the conference with a focus on the intersection between mental health and substance use. CCSA expects to release the full program later this month.
Catapulting onto the Canadian music scene in 1993 with the release of her debut album, Time for Mercy, Arden boasts 19 top-10 singles. She is the recipient of eight Juno Awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. She has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame and is an inductee into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Arden is also the author of several books, including If I Knew Then: Finding Wisdom in Failure and Power in Aging, If I Knew, Don’t You Think I’d Tell You?, I’ll Tell You One Damn Thing and That’s All I Know, Falling Backwards and Feeding My Mother, a piercingly honest memoir of her experience with her mother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s.
Jann’s presentation is November 24.
