Brianne Peters is the research, impact and development specialist at CAPSA (Community Addictions Peer Support Association). For two decades, she has worked to bridge the gap between academia, policy and practice in Canada and internationally. Her background is in community-based research, adult education and policy analysis. Her work is informed by her own experience of substance use disorder, and how institutions can design responsive programs and policies that build on the strengths that lived or living experience of any kind brings. This is a central theme in her peer-reviewed and practical publications related to substance use health, equitable partnerships, community development and human rights.
